Positano is a town of 3.862 inhabitants in the province of Salerno, geographically belonging to the Amalfi Coast.
Thanks to the mild climate and the beauty of the landscape, Positano has been a holiday resort since the time of the Roman Empire, as evidenced by the discovery of a villa and further recent finds, dating back to 2004.
Typical are the many "stairways" that reach the beach from the top of the town.
The main beaches are: Spiaggia Grande and Fornillo, both within walking distance. The others are: La Porta, Arienzo, San Pietro Laurito. All accessible mainly by sea.
Positano can also be reached by public transport, the Metrò del mare.
